Melbourne bathroom renovations, built properly

A bathroom renovation is the most technically demanding room in the house, waterproofing, drainage, plumbing, electrical and tiling all packed into a few square metres. Get one layer wrong and it costs thousands down the track.

That's why every YoungConstruct bathroom is managed end-to-end by a licensed builder: one point of contact, licensed trades at every stage, and a finished bathroom that looks sharp and stays watertight.

The part you can't see

Waterproofing done to Australian standards

Leaking showers are Australia's most common building defect, and almost always a waterproofing failure. Here's how we make sure yours never is.

01

Substrate preparation

Surfaces cleaned, primed and fall-checked before any membrane goes down, most failures start here.

02

AS 3740 compliant membrane

Full membrane system applied to the standard for internal wet areas, including bond breakers at every junction.

03

Cure & flood testing

The membrane is properly cured and tested before a single tile is laid, never rushed to hit a date.

04

Documented & certified

Waterproofing is photographed and certified so you have proof of compliance for insurance and resale.

Licensed builder oversight on every stage. Because YoungConstruct is a registered building practitioner (DB-L 100172), your waterproofing isn't just done, it's inspected and signed off before tiling begins.

Bathroom renovation FAQs

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Melbourne?

It depends on the size of the space, the finishes you select and how much plumbing or structural work is involved. After a free on-site visit we provide a detailed, itemised quote so you know exactly what to expect before work begins.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

Most bathrooms are completed within 3–4 weeks of construction starting, depending on scope. Waterproofing cure times are never rushed, that's where corners get cut elsewhere. You receive a clear schedule before we start.

Is your waterproofing compliant and guaranteed?

Yes. All waterproofing is applied to AS 3740, flood tested before tiling, and photographed and certified, with licensed builder oversight (DB-L 100172) at every stage.

Can I use my bathroom during the renovation?

The bathroom being renovated will be out of action during the build. Most clients use a second bathroom or make temporary arrangements, we stage the work to keep the disruption window as short as possible.

Do you handle everything, or do I need to organise trades?

Everything is handled by us, plumber, waterproofer, tiler, electrician and carpenter are all coordinated by one licensed builder. You have a single point of contact from strip-out to handover.
