Kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation FAQs

How much does a combined kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation cost in Melbourne?

Every project is priced on its scope — cabinetry, benchtops, appliances, tiling and the amount of plumbing or electrical relocation all affect the figure. Because the three rooms share trades and a single site setup, building them together typically lands 10–20% below the cost of three separate jobs. We give you a fixed, itemised quote after a free on-site visit.

Why renovate all three rooms at the same time?

The three rooms usually share a wet wall, plumbing runs and the same cabinetmaker. Building them in one project means one demolition, one set of trade call-outs, one waterproofing certificate, one timeline and one matching palette across all three spaces — less disruption and better value than doing them years apart.

How long does the build take?

Around eight weeks on site once construction starts, depending on cabinetry lead times and finishes. That is considerably shorter than three separate jobs because trades overlap rather than repeat. You'll get a clear schedule before any work begins so you know exactly what's happening and when.

Can I stay in the house during the renovation?

Most clients do. There's a period where the kitchen and bathroom are out of action while trades work through. We stage the build to keep that window as short as possible, set up temporary arrangements where we can, and sequence the work so you're never without a toilet.

Can I start with two rooms and add the third later?

Absolutely. Many clients begin with the kitchen and laundry or the bathroom and laundry, then add the remaining room later. We can rough-in for the future room while the walls are already open, which saves reopening them down the track.

Are you a licensed builder?

Yes — YoungConstruct is a registered building practitioner (DB-L 100172), fully insured, and a member of Master Builders Victoria. Every combined build is completed to Australian standards across Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
